Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James finally addressed a viral tweet in which a hater claimed his NBA dominance would soon be over almost 10 full years ago during an appearance on the New Heights podcast hosted by the Kelce brothers, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and retired former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, released on Wednesday (January 15).
X user @urkle91 posted, "LeBron is 30, this f**kery won't go on for much longer, thank God," just after midnight on May 25, 2015, which was in reference to his 37-point, 18-rebound, 13-assist performance while leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to a Game 3 win and 3-0 lead over the Atlanta Hawks in the 2015 Eastern Conference Finals hours prior.
“I saw that tweet throughout all of my 30s, and I laughed at it so hard every single time,” James said when asked by Jason Kelce if he was aware of the viral post. “You wanna know what’s funny? When I turned 40, the same f**king guy said LeBron turned 40, this f**kery won’t go on for much longer!”
Of course, the age tweet proved to be untrue as James continues to perform at an All-Star level despite turning 40 last month.
“He’s gonna be real upset when I turn 50,” James joked.
The four-time NBA champion is currently averaging 23.7 points, 8.8 assists and 7.6 rebounds during his 22nd season, having broken the all-time scoring record in 2023 and becoming the first father to play alongside his son when he and Bronny James shared the court in November.
