Vice President Kamala Harris was blasted by critics for giving a "word salad" briefing on the devastating Los Angeles wildfires at the White House on Monday (January 13).

Harris, 60, urged displaced residents by the fires and evacuation orders to remain patient while first responders continued to work toward ensuring a safe re-entry to the neighborhoods affected.

“It’s critically important that, to the extent you can find anything that gives you an ability to be patient in this extremely dangerous and unprecedented crisis, that you do,” Harris said via the New York Post.

Several X users, however, acknowledged that the vice president appeared to use more words than necessary while making her point, which was a big criticism from conservatives during her unsuccessful 2024 presidential campaign.

"Classic Kamala," one X user wrote, referencing the "word salad" critique that followed her presidential campaign.

“‘Be patient’ means the same thing but listen to this word salad instead,” another user posted.

“So basically, these victims should be unburdened by what has been,” another user wrote, referencing one of Harris' most infamous past speeches accused of being "word salad."

Several supporters of President-elect Donald Trump, who defeated Harris handedly in the 2024 election, shared posts comparing the two candidates in response to Harris' comments.

"Competent leadership will be here in one week," one Trump supporter wrote, referencing the upcoming inauguration.

“Word salads are off the menu after January 20th,” another X user posted.
