Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence is reportedly "expected to miss multiple weeks" due to a foot injury that occurred during his team's 20-15 Thursday Night Football win against the NFC East Division rival New York Giants, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero on Friday (September 27).

"#Cowboys DE DeMarcus Lawrence is expected to miss multiple weeks because of the foot injury he suffered Thursday night, per sources," Pelissero wrote on his X account.

Lawrence limped off the field during the third quarter and underwent an X-ray, which was negative, Thursday night. The former Boise State standout recorded two tackles, which included one sack, during the Week 3 win.

Lawrence's reported injury diagnosis came shortly after NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that Cowboys All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons was confirmed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain during the same game Thursday night after undergoing an MRI. Dallas has 10 days between their Thursday Night Football win and their next game on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which will be followed by a Week 6 home game against the Detroit Lions before their bye week.

"With Micah Parsons dealing with a high-ankle sprain, Dallas now likely will be without two of its top defenders until after the Week 7 bye," Pelissero added.
