BOISE, Idaho -Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter supports the expansion of Medicaid.
The Governor announced his support of Proposition 2, the initiative that would expand Medicaid to an estimated 62,000 Idahoan who currently fall into the state's healthcare gap of making too much money to qualify for Medicaid, but too little for insurance subsidies.
"Proposition 2 is an Idaho-groomed solution," Gov. Otter says at the beginning of a new ad which debuted on Tuesday.
In a debate on Monday night, Democratic candidate Paulette Jordan said she also supports Prop 2. Her opponent, Lt. Gov. Brad Little, did not say if he supports the initiative, but said he'd respect the outcome if voters passed it.
