SPOKANE, Wash. -Washington State Patrol reports one man has died and a woman is in the hospital after a crash at Trent and Barker in Spokane Valley Tuesday night.
Investigators say 26-year-old John L. Scott of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was headed westbound on SR 290 east of Flora in a 2012 Toyota Tacoma pickup when he crossed the center line into the oncoming lanes of traffic. Scott collided with a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup driven by 35-year-old Bethany A. Latner of Otis Orchards, who was headed eastbound on SR290.
Scott was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Latner was injured and transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Her condition is not known at this time.
Troopers say Scott was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Latner was wearing a seat belt.
Investigators are still working to determine what led to the crash.
