SPOKANE, Wash. -For Spokane city leaders the snow season runs from November 15th to March 15th. But even before the first flakes fly they're gearing up for the winter season "They're already starting to tune up the trucks, and they'll have the plow blades, they'll start to drop those on to the trucks soon," said City of Spokane Spokeswoman Marlene Feist.

City Spokeswoman Marlene Feist says they won't be changing the plowing plan much at all this year and will be sticking to the plan they had last year "For the most part we got a lot of positive feedback on that. The biggest change that we are going to see for this upcoming winter is fewer driveway berms," added Feist.

The City of Spokane will be adding an additional nine new snow gates to protect driveways. Increasing the total number to 16 "We had seven pieces of equipment last year to minimize driveway berms we are going to increase that to 16 pieces of equipment, so you are far less likely to get a driveway berm in this upcoming winter than you were last year," said Feist.
