SPOKANE, Wash. -Two firefighters were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries early Thursday morning after battling a house fire that quickly spread to other buildings.

The fire happened near the intersection of Ruby and Sinto. Arriving crews found a house engulfed in flames and the fire spread to another house and a garage.

Spokane Fire Chief Brian Schaeffer tells KHQ's Grace Chapin that at least a dozen people have been displaced, but they will be receiving aid from the Red Cross.

The intersection of Ruby and Sinto was shut down for a few hours, but Ruby opened back up at around 6:00 am. Sinto is still closed and could be closed until around lunch time.
