Crash involving 5 semis, 3 cars blocks I-90 east of Cle Elum

CLE ELUM, Wash. -Update: Washington State Patrol says there were no major injuries from a crash that involved a total of eight vehicles Monday, including five semis.

It was originally reported that seven semi trucks were involved in the crash, but that number has been reduced. 

As of 10:30 p.m., troopers say the cars have been removed from the highway and they're working to get the trucks off the highway.

Washington State Patrol troopers and Department of Transportation workers are working together to clear a multi-vehicle crash east of Cle Elum Monday night. Troopers say there are injuries reported the crash that involved seven semi trucks and three cars on westbound Interstate 90. 

Trooper John Bryant tweeted Monday that the crash happened about 8:15 p.m. About two hours after the original report, the highway was still blocked.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the crash. A detour was set up at exit 106 at Ellensburg and using Highway 97/State Route 10 to Cle Elum. 

Additional details weren't immediately available Monday.
