COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho -Keep a close eye on your pets. That's what one Coeur d’Alene family has to say after their cat was shot with a B.B. gun.

“Brianna called me and said that something was going on with Phoebe,” Nick Shriner said.

Phoebe is Nick Shriner and his fiancée, Brianna’s, cat.

She loves to roam around outside, but Nick says last Wednesday, Phoebe came hobbling home.

“She was not able to move her right arm at all,” Shriner said.

The couple rushed Phoebe to the vet who told them her right leg was completely shattered.

X-rays came back and there was a B.B. lodged in there.

They had to amputate.

“It missed everything," Scott Kalis said from our story last summer.

Kalis told us his cat, Tika, was lucky to be alive after a blow dart missed vital organs.

Shriner has a message for pet owners.

“If they did it to a cat that obviously has its collar on and obviously someone's pet, they'll most likely keep trying to do it something else and keep an eye open,” he said.

If anyone has any information, please call the Coeur d'Alene Police Department.
