SPOKANE, Wash. -Despite record heat, thousands of people flocked to the Spokane County Fairgrounds Thursday to listen to Rev. Franklin Graham.
Graham is the son of the late evangelist, Billy Graham, who passed away in February.
According to officials with Graham’s tour, 14,600 people showed up to the event.
The Spokane visit was part of Graham’s “Decision America” tour across the Pacific Northwest, in which he isn't just preaching, but petitioning for people to vote in the upcoming midterm elections.
To help beat the heat, people were allowed to bring coolers and ice chests to the free event. There were first aid stations throughout the fairgrounds, an ambulance, and water for those who needed it.
