One dead in Sandpoint shooting; suspect on the loose

SANDPOINT, Idaho -Update: Sandpoint Police responded to a shooting call at the Meandering Moose on 317 Marin Street Monday night around 7 p.m. When they got there they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. 

The suspect, described as a darker skinned man between the ages of 20 and 40 year old and between 5 feet 6 inches and 6 feet tall, was last seen wearing a light blue colored T-shirt and tan shorts. He ran away on foot right after the shooting. He is still on the run and considered armed and dangerous.

The victim was taken to Bonner General Hospital where he died from his injuries. The victim's identity has not been released. 

Sandpoint Detectives are on scene collecting and processing evidence. Anyone with information is asked to contact Bonner County Dispatch at 208.265.5525

Sandpoint Police and other agencies are investigating a shooting Monday night. 

It happened in the 300 block of Marion Street around 7 p.m., police say.

Officers are looking for a suspect in the shooting who is described as a darker-skinned man, between 20 and 40 years old and between 5 feet 6 inches and 6 feet tall. He has short hair and was last seen wearing a light blue T-shirt and tan shorts.

Additional information about the shooting was not immediately available Monday night.
