SPOKANE, Wash. -"We’re hiring!" That’s the message from one of Spokane County’s largest school bus services.
Durham School Services says they need drivers and need them fast.
Not only will they pay for your CDL training, they’ll give you a huge signing bonus.
"First people that these children see and the last ones before they go home to their parents,” Santos Picacio, the general manager for Durham said.
Bus drivers play a crucial role in kids' lives.
It’s a rewarding career, Picacio says.
Picacio says they need 35 new bus drivers to help with the upcoming school year.
The company, which contracts with Spokane Public Schools, is offering jobs paying $17 an hour and it includes a $4,000 signing bonus.
If you get the job, that bonus also applies to applicants who may not already have their CDL.
“They are in the classroom for about two and a half weeks and we have some of the best trainers here in the state of Washington,” Picacio says.
Before any pay or bonuses, Picacio says applicants must pass a background check and drug screen.
