Teen airlifted to Sacred Heart after Cataldo shooting

Kootenai County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a 13-year-old boy was shot last week.

Deputies responded to a house on S. Robinson Creek Road near Cataldo, Idaho, around noon on June 22, for a report of an accidental shooting. When they arrived, the found a 13-year-old boy had sustained extensive facial injuries from what appeared to be a shotgun. The teen was airlifted to Sacred Heart where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Detectives also responded to the house and are investigating the incident. Since the investigation is still active, deputies say additional information will not be released.
