Police are investigating an auto vs pedestrian crash in downtown Spokane Monday afternoon.
Officers responded to the intersection of 2nd and Browne around 1:15 p.m. Police on scene say a woman was hit by a car while in a crosswalk at the intersection. The woman was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police later reported that the crash was fatal.
The intersection is expected to be closed for several hours while Spokane Police Traffic Investigators conduct their investigation, gather evidence and interview witnesses. A detour is in place.
