Friends remember Spokane man fatally stabbed

SPOKANE, Wash. -Friends and family are devastated and heartbroken over the death of 28-year-old Corey Ward, who was stabbed and slashed by a killer.

Ward did not survive and so far, Spokane police haven't made any arrests.

It happened on May 17 just before midnight in the 2400 block of West Cleveland in Northwest Spokane.

Friends have been left shocked over Ward’s death and wrote on Facebook saying quote, “Corey was senselessly murdered.”

Ward worked at the Manito Tap House as a cook. His coworkers spoke highly of him.

In a statement, his coworker Chelsea Hanson wrote, “We are so devastated and broken hearted by this senseless tragedy. Corey was so so full of life and passion!  if you connected with him, that was it, he was your loyal friend for life. He was making so many great choices to grow and make himself into the man he would be proud of. He was a great example to our younger crew on overcoming and choosing to move forward. He had endless integrity.”

Spokane police say there has been a suspect named in the investigation but he has not been arrested as the investigation is ongoing.
