SPOKANE, Wash. -The Spokane Public School District has partnered with the Spokane Police Department to stop gang activity in its tracks.
It’s called Gang Free Spokane and is funded by a Department of Justice grant.
The money will allow the school district, the city, and police to work more closely with other community organizations involved in gang prevention and intervention.
A core idea behind the collaboration is building relationships between police officers and kids both at a young age and at-risk kids.
