Coeur d'Alene officers arrest person with stolen guns, heroin

The Coeur d'Alene Police Department reports that members of its Community Action Team made an arrest last week that resulted in the recovery of two stolen guns and got drugs off the street.

On May 1, members of the Community Action Team arrested a felon who was in possession of heroin and two handguns that were later determined to be stolen. The person confessed to entering unlocked vehicles in the Coeur d'Alene area and taking the handguns.

The person was charged with two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Trafficking Heroin, Parole Violation and two counts of Grand Theft.

The Coeur d'Alene Police Departments reminds the community to lock your vehicles, and keep a record of serial numbers for any valuable property.  This includes firearms, electronics, bicycles or any other property with a serial numbers.
