SPOKANE, Wash. -Bloomsday is a tradition for many families, including the Littles.

John and Liz Little both were avid runners, and their children joined them almost every year for Bloomsday. Now, reaching that finish line means a lot more.

John was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 12 years ago. He didn’t let that stop him though. He continues to walk three miles every day with his wife and continues to sign up for Bloomsday.

This year, he and Liz finished the course in two hours and 20 minutes.

“I’m really proud of this guy because he just kept it going the whole time,” Liz says. He got a standing ovation when he walked in the house by all of his kids. It was really sweet.”

And for John, that means a lot, and he hopes he can walk Bloomsday again next year.
