Two students were arrested in Spokane County in the past week for making threats on social media, and the Coeur d'Alene School District announced one of their students was also placed under arrest for the same thing this week.
The district says a "non-specific social media threat" was made this week.

"While no school or student was named in the message, it crossed a line and will result in serious consequences," the district posted on Facebook. "A new state law addressing electronic threats that disrupt an educational institution may apply in this case."
Coeur d'Alene Police detectives identified the local student responsible for the threat and the student is expected to be charged with making a threat.
"Online threats are nothing to fool around with. They can get you kicked out of school and compromise your future," the District said. "If your student is online, they need to know what is at stake when they communicate with others, comment on posts, share photos and engage in other activities. One mistake can last a lifetime. Be aware of what your children are doing on their devices. Help them understand the implications of their actions."
