Logging truck driver dies in north Idaho

broken glass - emergency lights - roadOn Tuesday, December 19th at 4:47 AM, Idaho State Police responded to a deadly crash northbound State Highway 3 near mile post 47, between Bovill and Clarkia. 

31-year-old Cody Wood of Lewiston was driving a loaded 2006 Kenworth logging truck when he failed to negotiate a right curve.  The truck left the roadway, and spilled the load, which impacted the truck cab. 

Another motorist, 33-year-old Darren Jackson of St Maries hit the spilled logs on the roadway. Wood was declared deceased at the scene.  He was not wearing a seat belt. Jackson was not injured.  He was wearing a seat belt.
