UPDATE:The Spokane County Sheriff's Office says the missing woman and her son have been found and are safe.

Thanks to everyone who helped spread the word.

NEWMAN LAKE, Wash. -The Spokane County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help locating a 34-year-old mother and her 1-year-old son. Heidi M. Wallin walked away from a residence near the Washington/Idaho state line on E. Ante Rd. with her son around 11pm Wednesday night.

The home she was last seen at is in the Newman Lake area near the Cabela's and Walmart at state line. Wallin was intoxicated and under the influence of prescription pain medication when she left and authorities are especially concerned because she and her son are not dressed for the weather. She also left her cell phone at the residence.

Heidi Wallin is described as a white female, approximately 5’06”, 110 lbs., with brown hair (up in a bun) and brown eyes.  She was last seen wearing a dark hooded shirt with a decal on the front and red sweatpants and her son was wearing a blue pajama onesie.  The photo on the right in this story was taken earlier this evening and shows the clothes Wallin and her son were wearing.

Deputies have been checking the area of the residence, hospitals, taxi companies and alerted area law enforcement agencies, in addition to working with Wallin’s boyfriend/family to contact friends, but have been unsuccessful in locating Wallin and her son.

Air 1 has been called out to assist in the search and the Spokane County Emergency Notification System, ALERT Spokane, has been activated in the area to notify neighbors of the search.

If you have seen Heidi M. Wallin and her son, or know of their location, you are urged to call 911 or Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
