Otis Orchards package thief strikes in minutes

OTIS ORCHARDS, Wash. -An Otis Orchards couple is hoping someone recognizes the man they say took a package just moments after it was delivered after they say the thief followed the UPS driver.

Just after 11 o'clock Friday morning, a package was dropped at the Miller house in Otis Orchards. If you watch surveillance footage carefully, in the background, you can see a white car checking things out before slowly driving away.

Moments later that same car shows up again and a man walks up to the Millers' front door.

Looking back at the surveillance footage from their front door camera, Julie Miller noticed the car had actually been following the UPS truck. Julie says she's lived in the area for nearly 20 years and she can't believe thieves are brazen enough to do this in the middle of the day.

Julie says she will no longer have nay packages delivered to her home and she hopes this is a reminder to others to be careful if they do.

Julie reported the theft to the Sheriff's Office. If you recognize the thief from the video, call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
