Orofino student arrested for shooting threat

handcuffsThe Orofino Police Department reports an arrest has been made after a student threatened a shooting at Orofino High School. Police say the juvenile student was arrested Saturday evening.

The students arrest came following a three week investigation into statements the student had reportedly made indicating he was planning a shooting at the school. The student was arrested on a charge of Threatening Violence on School Grounds and was placed into the Juvenile Detention Center in Lewiston.

The Police Department says they are continuing to actively investigate a total of four different bomb threats that have occurred at the school in recent weeks. No charges have been filed in those cases as of Monday.
