SPOKANE, Wash. -Leaf pickup is underway in Spokane, but on Wednesday, if you called the hotline, you may have noticed that it was briefly put on hold.

The city says crews try to stick to the schedule as closely as they can, but snowfall or a need to de-ice can disrupt that. They don’t have as many people right now because they have to adjust shifts for some crews to de-ice or work overnight.

Starting November 19th, they are shifting to their winter schedule, which means leaf pickup crews will be out seven days a week from 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The city would like to remind people – don’t rake the leaves on your property into the road. Leaf pickup is for the leaves that fall into the road naturally from trees.

You can check your leaf pickup schedule on the city’s website. You can also call the leaf hotline for the next day’s work areas 509-625-7737.
