Osburn man allegedly crashes stolen car, tries to steal another

Justin Hurley Smith The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office says an Osburn man tried to steal another car after crashing the one he was driving, which itself was reported stolen out of Shoshone County last week. 

The crash happened near Highway 3 and Rainy Hill on Friday. It was reported 41-year-old Justin Hurley Smith tried to steal another car after crashing the first. An ISP trooper found Smith near Medimont, east of Harrison, after the crash. After a short foot pursuit, a K-9 was released and Smith was safely taken into custody. 

Smith was booked for Attempted Grand Theft, Possesion of a stolen car, Leaving the Scene, Obstructing, Marijuana and paraphernalia.
