Maple Street Bridge back open after police activity

Maple Street Bridge police activityUPDATE:

The Maple Street Bridge is back open to traffic.

After talking with Spokane Police for hours, the man safely came down from the fence and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Previous Coverage:

The Maple Street Bridge is closed due to police activity.

KHQ's tower camera shows police have both directions of the bridge shut down and police are negotiating with a man sitting on top of the fence.

We do know that a water rescue has also been called out on the bridge.

If you need to get across the river, you're being asked to use the Monroe Street Bridge, but you should expect delays.

KHQ has a reporter on scene working to confirm information and we will update this article as soon as we learn more. Check back later.
