Coeur d'Alene Police are investigating an anonymous threat directed towards a Lake City High School student.
On Sunday, October 8th, the Coeur d'Alene Police were notified about threats made to shoot a female student at school on Monday. The student received the threat via social media after refusing to send a nude photograph to the anonymous suspect. The suspect deliberately chose social media apps that would hide his/her identity. At this time, Coeur d’Alene Police Detectives are working to identify and locate this suspect.
Throughout the day there will be additional police officers at area schools, including Lake City High School, looking for any suspicious activity. Lake City High School authorities say as always, the safety of area students is our top priority. Threats are always treated seriously and fully investigated. Administrators with School District 271 and Lake City High School have been notified and are working in conjunction with law enforcement.
This is an active investigation. Anyone, including students, with information related to this incident should contact the Coeur d’Alene Police Department immediately. You can remain anonymous if you wish.
