Fireworks go on sale this week in a number of communities across Washington, but they are illegal in the City of Spokane. The only places in Spokane County where fireworks are legal are Airway Heights, Deer Park, and Medical Lake and there are restrictions in all three communities.
Fireworks can be set off only on the 4th of July in Airway Heights and Medical Lake.
Deer Park allows them to be set off July 1st through the 4th.
Those who buy, sell or discharge fireworks illegally face up to 90 days in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000.
