Gonzaga men's head basketball coach Mark Few is weighing in on the NCAA canceling the men's and women's basketball tournament due to concerns about the coronavirus.
Few tells ESPN:
"Extremely disappointed. ... All of us felt that we could postpone."
The 'Zags were a virtual lock for a number-one seed in the field of 68 and would likely have played their first two games in Spokane until the league decided to cancel the event altogether.
The Bulldogs just won the 2020 WCC Tournament and punched their ticket to the Big Dance. Few's team finishes the 2019-20 campaign 31-and-2 overall and had championship aspirations.
