SPOKANE, Wash. -Spokane Police say a man is in serious condition following an auto-pedestrian crash on Division St. in Spokane Thursday evening.
Around 6:30 p.m., SPD responded to the report of a vehicle-pedestrian crash at Division & Kiernan Ave. Witnesses stated the male pedestrian was crossing Division eastbound when he was hit by a vehicle in the center northbound lane of Division.
The man was transported to an area hospital with what SPD calls life-threatening injuries.
Police say it's illegal for pedestrians to cross Division at this intersection and that it is clearly marked by signage for pedestrians.
Northbound Division from Gordon to Empire was closed until 10:15 p.m during the investigation. Police say the driver has been cooperative and neither speed or intoxication appear to be factors in the crash.
