SPOKANE, Wash. -A school bus driver in the Spokane Public Schools district is on administrative leave and under investigation for letting a kindergartner off at the wrong bus stop Tuesday.
It was a scary moment for one North Spokane mom. According to Spokane Public Schools, her 5-year-old daughter, who just started kindergarten, was left at the wrong bus stop Tuesday afternoon. Luckily the student was spotted by an administrator from another school and escorted back to school safely. They were able to get a hold of the student's mother, and the two were reunited.
Spokane Public Schools students are bused to and from school by Durham Bus Services, and drivers are employees of Durham, not the district.
All drivers are instructed to double check student tags to make sure they are getting off at the right stop.
We spoke with Durham Tuesday, and they told us they have met with the mother to ensure a situation like this won't happen again.
