A staple of The Gorge Amphitheater's summer concert lineup for 17 years, the future of the Sasquatch! Music Festival is in doubt after the founder of the festival announced his departure in a press release Thursday.
Adam Zacks announced he will no longer be producing the Memorial weekend festival and that it won't be returning to The Gorge next year.
“Sasquatch! will forever remain a tapestry of the people who worked with us,” Zacks said in a press statement. “The artists who inspired us, and the varied experiences of the fans who attended it… of friendships made, engagements, hilltop weddings, permanent tattoos, once in a lifetime collaborations, weather events both treacherous and magnificent, at least one very public conception, and, of course, hundreds of awe inspiring performances. My humblest gratitude to all of you.”
Since the festival began in 2002, Sasquatch! has sold 1,026,095 tickets, booked more than 1,300 bands, and donated $723,436 to nonprofits, according to the radio station KEXP.
