Felon arrested for West Central shooting last week

Police say an armed and dangerous man wanted for a shooting in West Central Spokane last week has been located and arrested Tuesday following a days-long manhunt. Police say Christopher T. Felch, 47, ran from the scene after firing at two men at an apartment complex, hitting one in the foot.

Just before midnight on Monday, The United States Marshals Service asked for help from Spokane Police in apprehending Felch. Information was obtained that indicated Felch was at one of two north side addresses in Spokane. 

SWAT officers and two patrol teams set up containment on the locations and were able to determine Felch was inside a house near 6900 N. Altamont Street, north of Hillyard. Felch was taken into custody around 3 a.m. on Tuesday. No one was injured in the arrest.

Spokane Police got search warrants for both locations and will be seeking evidence from the May 17th shooting.

Spokane Police are asking the public to be aware and on the lookout for a convicted felon who is considered armed and dangerous.Thursday night, just before 10pm, 47-year-old Christopher Felch fired a firearm several times at two males at an apartment complex, striking one in the foot. The shooting happened in the 2000 block of W Broadway.  Responding officers located an adult male victim with non-life threatening injuries.

Felch fled the scene on foot and his current whereabouts are unknown. 

A search warrant was conducted on Felch’s residence by the Spokane SWAT team and more firearms were located by the Major Crimes Unit detectives.  

Felch is a convicted felon, he has a  history of violent behavior and was involved in an Officer Involved Shooting with SPD in 2004. Felch is considered ARMED and DANGEROUS.  If anyone sees Felch they should call 911 Immediately. Anyone with information about this incident, who has not spoken with detectives, is asked to call Crime Check at 456-2233.
