AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. -A motorcyclist has died from her injuries following a crash with a pickup truck on Highway 2 Tuesday afternoon.
Preliminary investigation says the motorcyclist was headed eastbound on Highway 2 and a pickup truck was heading westbound. The pickup truck driver turned in front of the motorcyclist and hit them head-on.
First responders were able to perform life saving measures on the motorcyclist and they were airlifted by Life Flight helicopter to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with injuries described as life-threatening. The motorcyclist, identified as 57-year-old Holly Andersen, has since died of her injuries. Next of kin has been notified.
The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
Investigators say it's a good reminder to motorists to be more aware because as the weather gets warmer there will be more motorcycles out on the road.
