SPOKANE, Wash. -  Hannah's Prom and Dress Closet is a nonprofit organization in Spokane that serves girls who want to go to prom, but cannot afford a dress. Girls can make an appointment to go shop in the closet for a dress they can borrow for free.

Appointments usually last about an hour and normally there's only one girl shopping around at a time making the experience a special one.

The organization does accept donations, so if you are looking to get rid of a prom dress, they will take it off your hands. They also accept jewelry, purses, shoes and monetary donations. If you have a dress you would like to drop off, you can swing by 218 N. Bernard in Spokane from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. where you will see a rack to drop off your items. If you leave your e-mail they can send you a receipt.

Currently the closet has about 1,500 dresses. So far this prom season they have given away about 175 dresses. Last year between prom, homecoming and other formal events they gave away around 700 dresses to girls in need.
