Josh Duggar Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

Yesterday, reality TV star Josh Duggar was arrested, but the charges against him were not revealed. Today, however, they were, and the charges are receiving and possessing child pornography. According to the Daily Mail, the 33-year-old pleaded not guilty during a virtual federal court hearing today. If he is granted bond, he will be ordered to live with a third party who has no children.

Josh, who made a name for himself on the hit series 19 Kids And Counting, turned himself in yesterday in Arkansas. Per the indictment, he allegedly downloaded child sexual abuse material in May of 2019. Some of the photos or videos show children under the age of 12.

The arrest comes two years after Homeland Security raided Duggar's now-closed car dealership. At the time, he was not charged.

His father reported him to the police in 2006 for allegedly molesting five young girls when he was a teenager.

Just days ago, Josh's wife of 13 years, Anna, shared on Instagram that the couple is expecting their seventh child together, a daughter.

A source told The Sun that Josh's family has "known that this has been coming for weeks" and that "Josh has been preparing himself." They added:

"They are praying together for Josh and Anna, who is standing by her husband as she always has. Family members are extremely concerned by what is happening and they just want to find out the truth. They know that this will put them in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, and are stunned they are having to go through this again. The family will be speaking out shortly and hope this in many ways will bring them closer together and even closer to God."

If convicted, Duggar could be sentenced to 20 years in prison.
