Stormy Daniels' Attorney Says She Was Threatened

The lawyer representing Stormy Daniels, who is suing President Donald Trump, says she has faced physical threats.

On CNN's "New Day," lawyer Michael Avenatti told Chris Cuomo that Daniels has faced physical threats.

"My client was physically threatened to stay silent about what she knew about Donald Trump," Michael Avenatti said. "She's going to be able to provide very specific details about what happened here."

According to Avenatti, more details about the threats would be shared in Daniels' upcoming interview on "60 Minutes" which is scheduled to air later this month.

Avenatti wouldn't elaborate on what kind of threats were made, nor would he specify who made them. He also wouldn't say whether he or Daniels filed a police report about the threats.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, filed a lawsuit against the president last week over a nondisclosure agreement she made with him shortly before the 2016 election. Trump's personal attorney, Michael Cohen, paid Daniels $130,000 to keep silent about an alleged affair she had with Trump in 2006.

During the interview with Cuomo, Avenatti also said that there were at least six other women who have come forward alleging sexual relationships with Trump, including other women who have signed nondisclosure agreements.

Cohen and the White House have denied any allegations of an affair between the president and Daniels.
