POST FALLS, Idaho -In a quiet Post Falls neighborhood, variety comes in the form of a “red hot” spice of life and excitement begins to mount as the Red Hot Mamas step closer to New York City.

“We're bringing our own miracle to 34th Street,” Mikki Stevens, the president of the Red Hot Mama’s said.

The Mama’s were invited for the second time in three years to march during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The group formed 25 years ago in Coeur d’Alene hasn’t missed a beat.

”We workout, we teach them everything possible for 8 months time, we workout at least 7 hours a week for 8 months to get everybody ready,” Stevens said, “and it's amazing what women can do when they put aside all their differences and opinions about everything."

Stepping in countless parades locally and nationally, it’s safe to say the Mama’s are ready.

“Yeah we're a little older, yeah we don't really fit the mold but here we are and we're doing it anyway,” Stevens said.

The group leaves for New York next Monday, but Stevens said they will have Mama’s join them from Texas and even New Zealand.
