Most Americans don't mind lending some sugar to the family next door.  According to a new survey conducted by social networking site NextDoor.com, nine out of ten respondent say they are willing to share with their neighbors.  Seventy-eight percent showed a strong willingness to let their neighbor borrow food items.  Tools and yard equipment were also among the items people are most likely to share.  Only 15 percent say they would let their neighbor borrow their car, and 24 percent said they would share a babysitter.  Many respondents express a willingness to get closer with those next door, but can't seem to figure out how.  About half say they would be likely to participate in garage sales, car pools and group discounts with their neighbors, if there was an easy way to coordinate it.
