Driver suspected of seriously injuring man in hit-and-run crash jailed

SPOKANE, Wash. -Jail records confirm a man wanted for seriously injuring a Spokane father in hit-and-run crash last month was booked into jail Friday for possession of a controlled substance.

Andrew D. Clifton had been on the run from deputies since September 21, when deputies believe he caused a crash on Market and ran from the scene on foot. 

Santana Rivera was seriously injured in the crash. But a passerby used a tourniquet to help save Rivera's life. 

According to jail records, Clifton was booked into jail on drug charges.

There's no word yet on what charges he will face in relation to the September crash.
