Spokane woman warns of scary scam call

SPOKANE, Wash. -A Spokane woman reached out to KHQ saying she had just received the scariest phone call of her life.Turns out, the call was from scammers, but this was no ordinary scam.

The woman says the scammers call started with a woman frantically crying, then they said they would kill the woman crying if they don't send money immediately.

The woman, who wants to remain anonymous, says after the scam she called 911 and while on the phone with dispatch, her husband received the same phone call.

The woman says she filed a report with 911 and the FCC.She was told by Spokane County 911 that scams from Mexico are becoming more and more prevalent."

They are getting a lot of scams out of Mexico and that's what they are, scams to get money," she said.The Spokane County Sheriff's Office has a full list of scams and tips you need to know if in fact you receive the call.Click here for more
