FERRY COUNTY, Wash. -- The Ferry County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting Tuesday night.

Authorities said it happened on Bacon Creek and Rose Valley Road.

When deputies arrived they discovered Andrew Becklin had been shot in the face and chest with a shot gun. They said the suspect fled the scene and headed into the mountains. 

The Sheriff's Office had a person of interest and deputies searched the area to try and locate the suspect.

Republic Police, the United States Boarder Patrol, a WSP crime scene unit and detectives are assisting Ferry County Sheriffs in the investigation.
