Canada native Heather Wurtele was the top female finisher at the Coeur d’Alene Ironman on Sunday. She won in 2013 as well but said the race in 2014 was much more challenging.

Wurtele said the wind was her biggest enemy on Sunday. She said she also had some mechanical issues.

Wurtele finished in around nine-hours and 34-minutes.

She said she planned to take a long break before her next race. She said she wanted to give herself plenty of time to recover.
