>>Seahawks Claim Nelson

The Seahawks made a roster move yesterday.  Seattle claimed long snapper Kyle Nelson off waivers from the 49ers.  To make the move, they released wide receiver Charly Martin.

Meanwhile, I've been waiting for Ron Jaworski's countdown of his top QBs on ESPN.  I think he started at # 35. He wasn't into the top 10 yet so I did not think I needed to care about it just yet.  I can only take so much of Jaws.  But then last night I see the Seahawks were on the menu so I stayed tune.  Only to see Jaws had Russell Wilson as the #12 overall QB.  There is NO WAY, even after only one year, that there are 11 other better QBs in the league.  On a good note, now I don't have to watch that segment anymore.

>>Indians Fall

Spokana'e 4 game winning streak was snapped as Salem-Keiser scored 6 runs in the 4th inning on the wasy to a 9-1 win for the Volcanoes over the Indians.

>>No Mr. Everything on the Eags bench

In the NBA he was referred to as Mr. Everything.  In Spokane we just call him Craig or Eggs.  Or Mr. "One of the nicest guys ever." Craig Ehlo stepped down after two seasons as an assistant coach at Eastern Washington University.

>>Ms Bounced In Extras

A Daniel Nava single in the top of the 10th scored Jackie Bradley Jr. to lift the Red Sox past the Mariners, 8-7, at Safeco Field.  Seattle jumped out to a 5-1 lead and led 7-4 in after the fourth inning, but couldn't hold on.  Kyle Seager was 2-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in the loss.  Tom Wilhelmsen fell to 0-and-3.

>>Mariners Host Angels

The Mariners begin their final series before the All-Star break tonight.  Seattle will host the Angels for the first of three games.  The M's will send former Halo Joe Saunders to the mound opposite Jerome Williams.  Seattle is 40-and-52.

>>Capps Sent Down

All but probably two pitchers should be sent down.  But who do they honestly bring up? The Mariners sent reliever Carter Capps to Triple-A Tacoma.  The move was made to open up a roster spot for yesterday's starter Erasmo Ramirez.  Capps had a 6.37 ERA in 33 appearances.  He is only 22-years-old.
