>>Red Sox Making Moves As They Dump the Mariners

The Red Sox jumped on the Mariners early, scoring two in the first and three in the second before holding on for an 8-2 win at Fenway Park in the series opener.  Kendry Morales and Henry Blanco each knocked in a run for Seattle, which has lost four of six.  Joe Saunders fell to 9-and-10 and the series continues tonight. Meanwhile, I sit back once again at the trade deadline and watch as Seattle again does nothing.  I get it. Who wants anyone we have besides out 2 pitchers. It's not like going after a bat or another arm would help us win games.  Oh wait - that's exactly what we need.  Another Smoak stikeout with men in scoring position and I may throw that TV out the window.  A lot of teams are starting to bolster their rosters.  The Red Sox picked up ailing Jake Peavey.  Sure he is not like he used to be but at least they made a move as they TRY to move to October baseball in the wide open AL EAST.  But we sit back again knowing October is not a month for baseball in Seattle.  Sure glad Girffey Jr. "saved" baseball in Seattle.

>>Harvin Says He's Having Surgery

Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin says he will have hip surgery after getting a second opinion in New York.  Harvin, according to reports, could be out until at least late November.  He signed a six-year, 67-million-dollar contract in the offseason after being traded from Minnesota for a first-round draft pick.

>>Spokane Returns Home
