Mariners manager Eric Wedge is expected to miss the rest of the series with Cleveland after a second night in a hospital awaiting test results, "The Seattle Times" reported. Wedge felt dizzy spells before Monday's game and was taken to a local hospital. He did not manage the M's Tuesday night. The team was led by bench coach Robbie Thompson.

The Seahawks signed tight end Michael Palmer Tuesday to compete for a backup spot on the roster. Palmer spent the past three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and made five starts in 43 games. Seattle released rookie defensive back Ray Polk to make room for Palmer.
